Introduction to the community
The CGS Sisters in Malaysia were formerly a part of the Community of the Companions of Jesus the Good Shepherd in the UK. They became an autonomous community in 1978. Their Rule is based on that of St Augustine and their ministry is mainly parish work.
In October 2000, the Sisters moved from Sandakan in the East Coast to Kota Kinabalu, the Capital in the West Coast. Here a new building was put up in the year 2007 to replace the temporary one. With the kind assistance of Associates, the Community continues to serve the Diocese through sewing, making a range of items from altar cloths to palls. Another group makes and supplies altar bread for the whole diocese. Our present chaplain is Ven. Moses Chin Su Hyun, Rector of Christ Church, Likas. He is a great support to the Community.

Third Order, Fellowship, Associates
In Kota Kinabalu, some committed Christian women from the three Anglican Churches join in fellowship with the Community and have become associate members. They follow a simple rule of life to support the Community through prayer and to share in the life and work of the Community. Whenever they can, they come to join the annual retreat.
