Introduction to the community
The Community was founded in 1970 and was under the care of the Sisterhood of the Epiphany until 1986, when its own Constitution was passed and Sister Susila SE was elected as Superior. At Jobarpar, the Sevikas supervise a girls’ hostel, a play-centre for small children and help in St Gabriel’s Primary School. At Barisal, the Sevikas supervise St Mary’s Asrom (Home) and St Agnes’s Hostel. The Community also produces for sale a wide variety of goods and produce.
