Community of the Good Shepherd of the West Indies (CGS(WI))

Introduction to the community

We are a dispersed monastic community established in the Diocese of The Bahamas and The Turks and Caicos Islands (Church in the Province of The West Indies). The Community exists as a support to its members’ pursuit of holiness. We live our monastic Vows of daily Prayer, reflective Study, and personal Service in the world where we have been planted. Transforming union with Christ is the purpose of our monastic journey. We have adopted

“A Common Rule for Monastics”, of the Community of the Gospel as our guide (Rule) on the road to Christlikeness. Our motto, Following the Shepherd’s Way, is the compass that assists us with navigating that road. With strive to follow the Shepherd’s way always and in all ways, the Lord being our Helper.
